Months of songwriting and composing are about to pay off for a group of music students from Kangan Institute.
The Diploma of Music Industry students have created an album of original music, titled Ellipses, which will be launched this week.
The album features rock, dance, metal, pop and funk tracks.
Kangan Institute chief executive Sally Curtain said the album reflected the expertise of the students who are preparing for careers in the music industry.
“Kangan Institute’s courses are very much about equipping students with skills and experience to succeed in their future careers,” she said.
“That’s exactly what this annual music project is designed to do. It allows students to work creatively and collaboratively, as they would in industry, to develop a music album that they can be very proud of and can present to future employers.
“Well done to all the students involved and we look forward to a terrific album launch celebration.”
The album will be launched at during a showcase at Musicland in Fawkner on November 20, from 7pm.
The event will feature performance of original music and covers by Kangan’s certificate IV and Diploma of Music Industry students, and is open to the public.
Tickets are $10 and are available at the door.
