Werribee Devils will need to go back to the drawing board to get their Big V women’s state championship playoffs back on track.

The Devils were demolished 88-62 by Keilor Thunder in the qualifying final at the Keilor Basketball Stadium on Sunday.

Reece Potter’s Devils will live to fight another day courtesy of the double chance they earned during a superb home-and-away campaign.

Werribee was competitive in the first half and trailed by just three at half-time.

The second half turned ugly though for the Devils as they were out-scored 49-24 in the final two quarters.

The Devils were not helped by their poor shooting, hitting just 16-from-61 (26 per cent) attempts for the game.

Even the Devils stars were not exempt with Alisia Jenkins, Alexyz Vaioletama and Sarah Elsworthy combining to shoot 9 from 40 from the field.

Vaioletama had the best all-round game for Werribee with 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Georgia Tauschke top-scored for the Devils with 15, including seven from seven from the free throw line.

Werribee will square off with Hume City Broncos in a cut-throat semi-final at Eagle Stadium on Saturday night.

Hume won through to the semi finals, with a 88-72 win against McKinnon Cougars.
