All North Metro Cricket Association sides have been knocked out of the Northern Region T20 competition.

Rivergum and the Cobras were the only two NMCA teams left as the competition headed into the knockout stage, but both teams were beaten on Tuesday night in a repeat of last year’s competition.

Among those through to the semi-finals are Bundoora, Lalor Stars and Epping.

Bundoora had little trouble against the Cobras, restricting the Cobras to 5-89, with Hatinder Pal the pick of the bowlers.

The Bulls openers got off to a flyer, making 49 for the first wicket.

David Tantsis-Hall joined Asharn Hodge at the crease and the two got the job done, with the Bulls making 1-93 with five and half overs to spare.

Epping had an easy win against Montmorency.

Epping bowled Montmorency out for just 78 in the final over of the innings.

Marcus Murphy took four wickets for Epping, while Robert Tinsley took three.

Epping needed just 11 overs to get the job done, finishing 2-80.

Last season’s runner-up Lalor Stars is again through to the semis after beating Old Paradians. The Stars finished 1-162 in reply to Old Paradians’ 5-159.

Banyule, Heidelberg, Research Eltham Collegians, Riverside and Lower Eltham are the other sides through.
