It was a mixed weekend for the Sunbury Jets’ senior sides in the Big V competition.

The women’s side suffered its second loss of the season, facing an improving Werribee Devils.

The Jets were slow out of the blocks and trailed by 15 points at quarter-time. The margin was out to 21 points at the main break.

The Jets reduced the margin slightly in a low scoring third quarter, then went deep into their bench in the last quarter.The Devils ran out winners, 81-62.

Lynn Leaupepe, who got her first start for the Jets, top scored for the side with 22 points.

Josie Stockill was the only other Jets player to score double figures.

The Jets’ men’s side had mixed results, coming away with a win and loss.

On Saturday night, the Jets lost to the Shepparton Gators 87-64.

The Jets started slowly and never recovered, with the Gators winning three of the four quarters.

Arthur Trousdell top scored for the Jets with 20 points.

On Sunday, the Jets travelled to Traralgon to play Latrobe City Energy.

Sunbury led by 10 points at the first break.

The Energy reduced that margin over the next two quarters, with the Jets leading by three points at the last break.

The Jets found another level in the final quarter to win 78-62.

Ish Sanders top scored with 30 points.
