Gisborne Red’s hopes of a third straight Central Highlands Bowls top division title are over.

The past two years meant little on Saturday, as Bacchus Marsh ended Gisborne’s winning run.

Gisborne, which had won the minor premiership, had no answers for Bacchus Marsh, for the second time in four weeks.

Bacchus Marsh claimed three of the rinks on the way to a massive 95 (16)-64 (2) win.

Daniel Willis, Simon Cornock and Phil Minniti led the winning rinks for Bacchus Marsh.

Matthew Bacon was the winning skip for Gisborne, his rink winning a thriller, 22-21.

The loss means Gisborne exited the finals in straight sets.

Bacchus Marsh will play Lancefield in the grand final at Kyneton Golf’s home green.

In division 2, Kyneton Red had a big win against Woodend in the preliminary final.

Kyneton won two of the three rinks in the 85 (14)-51 (2) win.

Christine Plowman and Peter Ryan were the winning skips for Kyneton, which will play Bacchus Marsh in the grand final.

In division 3, Romsey defeated Bacchus Marsh to earn its spot in the grand final.

In a one-sided preliminary final, Romsey won 90 (15)-70 (1).
