Werribee’s Charlie Hudson-Czerniecki is shooting for the top.

The 20 year-old is this week participating in the commonwealth and national championships at the Newcastle Lake Macquarie Clay Target Club.

Ms Hudson-Czerniecki is one of 12 female trap shooting athletes competing at the event in a bid to be selected for the Australian team heading to this year’s Tokyo Olympics.

Two other women who train and compete at the Werribee Victorian Clay Target Club, Georgia Pistone and Alexis Preston, are also contesting the Olympic trials

Ms Hudson-Czerniecki said this year would be her fourth national championship, after placing third last year.

“I feel like I’m taking it as just a normal competition, that’s what you have got to do to keep your mind on the job,” she said.

“I would love to go to the Olympics, that has been my goal since I was little.”

Ms Hudson-Czerniecki said she would like to thank her family, including grandparents Christine and Jim Hudson, mother Annalise and younger sister Peri, for their support.
