Iramoo Primary School in Wyndham Vale will soon bid a fond farewell to three of its leadership staff members.
Principal Moira Findlay and assistant principals Ray Burrell and Nella Cascone, will all retire at the end of this year.
Between them, the trio have notched up 130 years of combined experience with the Department of Education and Training, and have spent a total of 81 years at Iramoo.
Ms Findlay started at the school as an assistant principal in 1993.
“I, personally, have enjoyed the kids and making a difference to them,” she said.
“Some of the pupils come from really disadvantaged backgrounds and a good education can make a difference in their lives.”
While the Department of Education and Training will choose Iramoo’s next principal, the staff members replacing Mr Burrell and Ms Cascone have already been working alongside them for a while.
“We’re proud it will be a seamless transition,” Ms Findlay said.
The school will pay tribute to the three outgoing leaders at its Carols on the Green, to be held next week.
A special farewell event will also be held next year, to which colleagues, parents and adult ex-students are invited.
“We would really like it to be a celebration of the school, rather than any one of us in particular,” Ms Findlay said.
The event will be held on March 12, from 4-7pm at the Werribee Racing Club Function and Events Centre. Cost: $20 per person, RSVP by March 1. Bookings 9741 2803.
