Guns and 1.7 kilograms of ice have been seized by police following a series of raids across Melbourne’s north-west.

Police from the North West Metro Crime Squad executed warrants at six properties in Epping, Thomastown, Roxburgh Park, Dallas and Hopetoun Park about 6am on Wednesday.

The raids were part of an operation targeting a Middle Eastern crime syndicate and resulted in the arrest of six people.

Those arrested are two men aged 30 and 34 from Roxburgh Park, a 41-year-old man from Epping, a 42-year-old man from Hopetoun Park, a 29-year-old man from Dallas and a 30-year-old man from Thomastown.

They have been charged with multiple offences including trafficking firearms and trafficking a large commercial quantity of methylamphetamine. They remain in custody.

Inspector Jamie Templeton said all parties were known to each other.

“They were connected in various ways and we believe today’s actions will bring about the disruption and hopefully the dismantling of the syndicate,” he said.
