Wyndham council has given more than $90,000 in funding to community groups and causes in its latest round of Identity, Inclusion and Connection grants.

Mayor Mia Shaw said grants of up to $5000 were presented to 24 not-for-profit groups and organisations.

“Culturally and linguistically diverse communities, people from lower socio-economic backgrounds, young people and seniors are just some of the groups to benefit,” Cr Shaw said.

Cr Shaw said Williams Landing Scout Group had been given $5000 to help launch a food fair and activities during next year’s Cultural Diversity Week.

The Victorian Immigrant and Refugee Women’s Coalition has received $5000 for the establishment of a space where women from diverse cultural backgrounds can meet to share their stories in a bid to combat social isolation.

Point Cook P-9 College will receive $5000 for a project that involves painting five water tanks after working with an indigenous artist.
