Aquatap Plumbing takes a lot of pride in the training and support it provides its apprentices.
So much so that the Point Cook business is celebrating the hiring of its 100th apprentice.
Aquatap director Anthony Pante said the company put a strong focus on fostering homegrown apprentices.
“We have our own internal training program,” he said.
“We feel it is an important thing.
“Our internal program ensures that the apprentices are trained to align with our company values of professionalism, accountability, integrity and excellence.”
Mr Pante said he enjoyed training apprentices and providing learning opportunities that were more advanced than those available when he was trained.
“I like to get out there on a training night,” he said.
“We make sure that they are comfortable using hand tools.
“Coming up to their exam time, we run workshops with practice models.
“If they have any areas they want to improve on, the workshops offer plenty of support and help.
“I really enjoy seeing an apprentice start and finish their journey.
