Donnybrook train station has been named as Victoria’s worst – and now the RACV wants commuters to have their say on how it can be improved.

The V/Line station was rated the worst in Victoria in RACV’s On Track Survey for 2017, with commuters rating it 3.41 out of 10.

The RACV says that a recent spike in population in Melbourne’s outer north and little investment in public transport, carparking or station design had resulted in commuters slamming the station.

RACV senior planner Stuart Outhred said the organisation was taking a closer look at the four worst stations in Victoria to see how they could be improved as part of the Fix My Station survey.

The other stations are Ruthven, Aircraft and Dandenong.

“The concerns already identified through the On Track survey included security fears, problems accessing a station or finding a carpark, overcrowded trains and poor connections to other transport networks,” Mr Outhred said.

“It’s only through the input of the people who use these facilities on a regular basis that we can gain a true picture of what the problems are.”

The Fix My Station survey comes just months after the state government announced it would create extra parking and extend the city-bound platform at Donnybrook.
