Young athletes are jumping for joy after Kyneton Little Athletics Centre received $2100 to buy new sport gear.
The funds were raised through the sale of Coles community chiller bags.
Club president Ashley Fraser said the money was a huge help.
“It’s very important to the club to take a bit of a burden off the fundraising,” he said.
“We’re buying some trolleys for the hurdles and we’re also buying a tent that we can put up at events to get people out of the sun.”
Kyneton Little Athletics spokesperson Kris Ford said the club wanted safety equipment because volunteer and member safety was a priority.
“The hurdle trolley will enable our volunteers to move our hurdles safely and more efficiently,” he said.
“The shade marquee will help prevent heat exhaustion and sunburn to both athletes and volunteers.”
Coles state general manager said the supermarket chain was thrilled to help Kyneton Little Athletics Centre.
“We were delighted to help because we know these are an essential part of little athletics – to support young budding athletes and parent volunteers,” he said.
