The Mount Players Theatre Company will rock and roll all night.

The theatre company cast members will be singing and dancing to classic rock anthems in their own take of Rock of Ages.

Director Alice Bottomley said she was looking forward to bringing back classic 80’s ballads.

“We live in such a politically correct time,” she said. “This musical, while telling a great story, gives me a license to push the boundaries and to not be so politically correct.

“My hope is that for the two hours the show is running, people will relax and let go and just have a laugh, not worry about offending anyone and just have a ripper of a time enjoying the over-the-top setting, costuming and fabulous 80’s songs.”

Producer Karlana Santamaria said the show couldn’t go on without the cast and crew involved.

“While there is a cast of 19 on the stage, there is also a production team, plus costume manager, sound and lighting designer, set builders, props co-ordinator, front of house and bar manager,” she said.

“There are so many people behind the scenes without which any show would never get off the ground.”

Rock of Ages will be performed from August 9 to September 1 at Mountview Theatre, 56 Smith Street, Macedon.

The show is recommended for people 13 years and over.
