Green Gully Cavaliers left it late to secure their first point of the National Premier League season in a 2-2 draw with Port Melbourne Sharks at Green Gully Reserve on Friday night.

Kieran Dover scored for the Cavaliers six minutes into second-half stoppage time to ensure his team would come away with a share of the spoils.

Green Gully opened the scoring in the eighth minute through Nick Krousoratis, but two goals in eight minutes from Francesco Stella and Kristopher Kioussis gave the Sharks the half-time lead.

Melbourne Knights finished a 3-1 loss to Pascoe Vale with nine men at Knights Stadium on Friday night. Shaun Timmins saw red in the sixth minute and Nikola Jurkovic was dismissed in the 78th.

In NPL 2 west, Michael Grgic scored twice to help St Albans Saints record their second win of the season, over Werribee City, at Churchill Reserve on Sunday.

Grgic found the back of the net a minute before half-time to give the Saints a half-time lead and again in the dying stages of the second half to regain the lead.
