Sunbury Badminton Club is looking for players to join the club. Beginners are welcome and racquet and basic coaching are available. The club runs organised games, social games and family nights throughout the week at Clarke Oval stadium, Riddell Road Sunbury.

Support after suicide
Support After Suicide Macedon Ranges offers support for those bereaved by suicide at monthly meet-ups at Newham Mechanics Institute, 1292 Rochford Road. All the peer supporters are personally bereaved by suicide and offer a relaxed chat over a cuppa and homemade goody. Some sessions also include speakers and activities. All are welcome. Local poetry readings
Emerging writer Amanda Anastasi, who won the 2017 Trentham Words in Winter Contemporary Poetry Prize, will be the featured poet at this month’s Chamber Poets event on Saturday, March 10 from 2-5pm. Writers will vie for the Poet of the Month Trophy in the open writers section, and Black Forest Smoke will provide some music. Actor John Flaus will read any poetry by those too shy to get on the microphone. Entry by donation at Woodend Neighbourhood House, 27 Forest Street.

Art and Craft exhibition
The Phoenix Macedon Ranges Art and Craft group are exhibiting their work over the Labour Day weekend March 10-12, 10am-4pm at the Old Gisborne Courthouse, Gisborne.
Opening night will be 7.30 pm Friday March 9. All are welcome to attend for free. Works will be for sale and there will be hands on demonstrations.
