On the 11th day at the 11th hour, Werribee’s CBD will stop to remember the fallen.

Wyndham locals will gather at the Station Place cenotaph from 10.45am this Saturday for a traditional Remembrance Day service, which will include wreath-laying, The Last Post and reading of the Ode.

November 11 marks the 99th anniversary of the Armistice which ended World War I.

Werribee RSL president Daryl Ryan said members and volunteers had been busy selling poppies in the lead-up to Remembrance Day, with proceeds going towards current and former service men and women in need.

Mr Ryan said it was important to commemorate those who lost their lives during World War I, including the 60 men from Werribee whose names were on the cenotaph.
