Bronte the three-legged moggy is looking for a new home.

The short-haired cat was rescued from a Brimbank property several months ago, after locals called Western Suburbs Cat and Kitten Rescue founder Nathan Miles about her “distressing” condition.

Bronte, who had a litter of kittens with her, was limping after breaking her back right leg.

Mr Miles said the 18-month-old feline was probably in excruciating pain for quite some time before being found in late November.

Bronte has since had her leg amputated, been desexed and microchipped, and is being looked after by Melton woman Kerilyn.

But she needs a permanent home.

“She needs to be inside permanently,” Mr Miles says.

“So we’re basically looking for a responsible and loving home for her, just so she can live out the rest of her life.

“Special needs animals can sometimes be difficult to find homes for. Even though Bronte’s got three legs, she can get around just fine. She’s been functioning with only three legs for many, many months.”

Mr Miles has urged anyone who sees an animal in distress to call RSPCA or the police.
