It’s time to put on your dancing shoes and help raise money for cancer services at Northern Health.

The Josie Minniti Fun Group is hosting its annual dinner dance on Saturday, June 17 to raise money for pancreatic cancer services and the Northern Health Oncology Appeal, which was launched last month.

The group, lead by Epping’s Josie Minniti, has been organising fundraisers for the Northern Hospital for the past 20 years.

Mrs Minniti’s dedication to helping the hospital resulted in her being made an officer of the Order of Australia last June.

She started the group after several friends and family were diagnosed with cancer in the same year.

Mrs Minniti watched as her loved ones battled their cancers and vowed to do something to make a difference.

“Cancer affects everyone and we have all lost loved ones to this dreadful disease. Together we can make a difference,” she said.

Northern Health chief executive Siva Sivarajah said Mrs Minniti’s fundraising had enabled the hospital to buy vital equipment for patients, their families and staff.

The Josie Minniti Fun Group annual fundraising dinner dance will be held at Ferraro Reception Centre, Campbellfield from 6pm-midnight. Earlybird tickets are $55 for adults and $25 for children.
