He’s making a list, he’s checking it twice – yet even Santa might struggle to make every Christmas event across Maribyrnong this festive season.
Christmas movies will be screened at Footscray’s Maddern Square on Fridays in December, while a Family Christmas Picnic with music, children’s activities and a visit from Santa heads to Footscray Park on December 9.
The Yarraville Carols in the Gardens on December 16 will feature the Footscray-Yarraville City Band, the Hyde Street Youth Band and Western Brass, joined by opera singers, mass choirs and guest artists, concluding with a spectacular fireworks display.
Avoid the last-minute Christmas shopping rush by checking out the Footscray Saigon Night Market, Yarraville Markets, Footscray Finds or Seddon Makers Market.
Highpoint shopping centre is well into the swing of the Christmas season with ‘Highpoint Shopping Day’ today (Wednesday) and Santa’s Village open until Christmas Eve.
Maribyrnong council is also hosting a Christmas-themed photo competition – take a Christmas photo and upload your image to social media using the hashtag #MariXmas17 to be in the running to win a range of prizes.
Maribyrnong mayor Cuc Lam said Christmas is a wonderful time of year to celebrate with family, friends and neighbours.
