A man who was left for dead with stab wounds to his upper body in a Caroline Springs lane has been identified as Patryk Bondar.

Passers-by were met with a grisly scene last Sunday night after finding the 36-year-old’s body and a trail of blood on Caravel Lane.

Police have identified the former Kings Park Secondary School student as the victim of the stabbing and are appealing for public help to piece together the circumstance leading up to his death.

Mr Bondar, a forklift driver according to his Linked In profile, had dropped his children off at their grandparents’ home on Sunday,

Nine News reported last Tuesday. Blurry CCTV footage of Mr Bondar aired by Nine News showed him walking on a footpath in Caroline Springs on Sunday night.

Detective Senior Sergeant Stephen McIntyre said Mr Bondar’s body was discovered about 10pm on June 4.

He said paramedics were called to the scene but Mr Bondar was pronounced dead when they arrived.

“We’ve got an extended blood trail that runs from Caravel Lane into the eastern side of the lake along The Esplanade.

“We’re asking anyone who may have any CCTV footage or who may have seen or heard any noise before 10pm that night to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”

Homicide squad detectives spent the night combing a large area fanning out from Caravel Lane and police spoke to a number of residents but have been unable to piece together the sequence of events that led to his death.
