A Romsey photographer is spreading some warmth by raising $6000 to help families that have lost a baby.
Emma-Amanda Baker will donate the proceeds from her maternity and newborn photo shoots towards buying Cuddle Cots for regional hospitals.
The special cooling cots allow grieving families to be with their babies for longer.
The mother-of-two decided to fundraise for the cause through her work volunteering in hospitals for Heartfelt – an organisation that provides photo services for families who have experienced stillbirths, premature births or have children with serious illnesses.
“Unfortunately there are just not enough Cuddle Cots in our big hospitals,” Ms Baker said.
“In some hospitals they don’t even have one.”
“It’s heartbreaking work but I prepare myself and go in with the notion that the photo shoot is not about a child that’s passing away, I instead focus on capturing their life and not their death.”
Ms Baker has already raised $1500 towards her goal for Cuddle Cots.
