One of the biggest decisions parents make is choosing the right school for their child. Each school is different. Heathdale Christian College principal Ross Grace believes his school provides a unique learning community for families in the Werribee area.

Achieving a particular vocation through education in school is one important aspect of life, says Mr Grace.

“However, when it comes to the development of a child, Heathdale Christian College believes a school can do more than this,” he says.

“We teach students from a biblical worldview, beginning with the belief that God created children unique, gifting them with individual characteristics and potential

“It’s from this springboard that our purpose statement is founded and is why our programs are developed – to give opportunities for each child to develop their purpose.”

The college’s 2017 year 12 VCE, VET and VCAL scores illustrate the great outcomes of the curriculum and co-curricular programs.

With the widest initial subject selections at VCE level in the western suburbs, the college saw last year’s dux achieve 95.65 and multiple students receive university early offers due to outstanding results and community and leadership skills.

In its extensive creative and visual arts programs, the college had a perfect subject score in music industry studies, along with student nominations in Top Arts and Top Acts.

Heathdale’s programs are structured from four-year-old kindergarten through to year 12 to enable each student to have a strong base of literacy and numeracy – evidenced through well-above average NAPLAN results.

The largest range of subjects occur through years 7 and 8, as students learn up to three languages (Latin, French and Mandarin), compete in sports, study science, maths, creative and visual arts, and participate in leadership opportunities and community service programs.

“In short, the College tailors its curriculum and co-curricular programs, all based on God’s Holy Bible, for each student to pursue and launch into the next phase of their life,” Mr Grace says.

“Teachers encourage students to learn life-long behaviours, such as integrity, honesty, respect, love, honour and truth.

“Our College continues to grow, now with two strong campuses in the western suburbs. I invite any parent who is looking for more than vocational education to come and speak with us to find out about our unique and distinctive style of Christian education.”
